Faith Musonda is one name that trended for the better part of 2021 following her infamous arrest.

In case you somehow missed the whole story, here is a summary- in December 2021, renowned journalist Faith Musonda was arrested by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) after it was established that her multi-million mansion had been allegedly acquired from proceeds of illegal activities. She was also found in possession of millions of money in her house that she could not account for and both her house and the money were confiscated.

During Faith Musonda’s case investigation, her entire life was laid out in public and we got to see the ins and outs of her house, her multiple identities, her career, her history and a little glimpse into her personal life. 

However, despite her dirty laundry being aired out in public, one thing that remained a big mystery was the identity of Faith Musonda’s husband. Let’s take a look at who the mysterious Faith Musonda’s husband is, her children and where she currently is.

Even though a few sources report that Faith Musonda is a married woman, details about who her husband is are unavailable online. It is also unclear when she got married (if she is married, that is.) 

According to sources, Faith Musonda is a mother of two beautiful children whose genders and names have not been revealed. Shortly after her arrest, some tabloids reported that Faith Musonda was expecting baby number three but this has not been verified yet.

Is Faith Musonda a former president’s mistress?

Following her arrest drama, a few publications came up with the notion that Faith Musonda was allegedly former president Edgar Lunga’s mistress and baby mama and that her arrest by president Hichilema's government was a crackdown on the former head of state’s corrupt allies.

Like the story about her pregnancy, this speculation has also neither been confirmed nor verified by the retired president nor the journalist.

Faith Musonda was born in Northmead, Lusaka and together with her six siblings, she was raised in a strict Christian family where her mother was involved in the Christian women’s ministry and her father, who passed on when she was young,  was a Sunday school teacher and a cell-group leader.

She studied at Nkwazi Primary School and St Mary’s Secondary School for her primary and secondary education, after which she became a volunteer at ZNBC Radio 2.

Faith Musonda’s uncle, Fred Chunga was once a prominent broadcaster and Faith cites him as her inspiration to join the media industry which made her to take a journalism course at Evelyn Hone College.

Besides her gig at ZNBC, Faith Musonda also worked for Choice FM radio and 5 FM before moving to South Africa to look for greener pastures.

In South Africa, Faith Musonda worked for Southern Sun Pretoria as a Guest relations officer before getting employed by  South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as a news anchor and producer.

On her return to Zambia, Faith Musonda enrolled for a degree in Bachelor of Science and Communications and landed a job with Airtel as a presenter for Abaleya Show. She later got a job at ZNBC TV as a presenter and then moved to Econet as a public relations and branding marketing manager.

Looking for more growth opportunities, Faith Musonda left Econet and started her own television station called Life TV. She also got to work at Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) as a communications and public relations manager and according to her LinkedIn profile, she currently works as a head of corporate communications for Export Trading Group.
