He was born and raised in Chipata and over the years he's achieved much success not only in Zambia, but right across the African continent.
For him, music is all about sharing positives messages and help build a community. Roberto said that the Zambian music industry can only thrive if artists work together.
Roberto was born in Chipata in a family of nine and he's the last born. He was born in a very supportive family and he's always viewed his mother as his pillar of strength and biggest fan.
His brother, David Banda is the one who inspired him to pursue music. Ever since he showed interest in music, David always looked out for Roberto and giving him sound and solid advice about the music industry. Roberto listened to his brother, but he did not want to be known as General Ozzyโs brother, he wanted to make his own mark in the industry.
Roberto attended his school in Johannesburg and this was the time when he had his first experience with the music industry. He was renting a studio where he managed to write and record a total of 7 songs and he managed to sell five of them.
In 2020, Roberto and his wife, celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary and Roberto had the most beautiful words to share with her.
'On this day, I unveiled a whole new world, a world filled with Love, passion, brilliance, the embodiment of a total package, FULL PACKAGE ๐ nothing but beauty inside out. From the beginning of his career, Roberto knew that he had to work very hard to attain success in the music industry.
โI was very lucky to have early exposure to an advanced music industry in South Africa. Realising that nothing was going to be handed over to me for free in my career was a significant lesson that has impacted my work ethic and pursuit to be the best I can be,โ.
Upon returning to Zambia and because things were done differently as compared to South Africa, he quickly realised that he had to fit in. This was the that he met B'Flow and they started working together. This helped Roberto find his place in the industry and he released his single 'Operator'.
The song that propelled him to stardom was 'Amarulah' and Roberto was even shocked by the great reception that the song received.
โIt was really meant to be a club song and itโs amazing that it turned out to be but I never expected that it would become a worldwide sensation or even appeal to people from all walks of life,โ Roberto explained during his interview with Nkwanzi Online.
His single 'Vitamin U' where he featured Vanessa Mdee is one that took the industry by storm and having over 200 000 views on YouTube. #
Roberto went on further to release greats grits such as Contolola on which he has teamed up with Nigerian reggae-dancehall artiste, Patoranking. The song was on his 'Superstar' album and each artist recorded his part of the song in their respective countries.
With his music prowess, Roberto released 'Kwasa' in 2018, a song that was produced by Jazzy Boy of Sugah Sounds Entertainment. Roberto said the song was a success and he had help from Young Riko of Brotherhood Music and Browen of XYZ who wrote the song with him.
In 2019, he released his first for the year that he titled 'Beautiful' and he said the song was inspired by real life events. He is also a good friend of OC Osiliation and they often promote each other's music.

โWe didnโt understand why there was so much red tape to give aspiring musicians a chance. BrathaHood Music is a platform that allows artists to shine in their own right without being tied to severe contracts,โ.
