Born Salma Dodia on the 22nd of November 1985 in Lusaka, Salma Sky grew up with an inborn passion for music and as she grew up, she nurtured her musical talent. Her father is the famous economist- Yusuf Dodia.

She took a break from music to pursue a career in modelling and she was quite successful in the field, even though her heart was still in music.

Salma eventually left modelling and returned to her first love- music. In 2010, she collaborated with legendary Zambian musician Jordan Katembula (JK) to release the hit single- Kapiripiri which was a huge success and introduced Salma Sky to the music industry.

Since launching her music career, Salma Sky has continued to prove that she is here to stay. She has released a number of hit songs including Overtime, Folo Folo, Wonderful World, Kakalebalika, Ruby, and 10 Years, among other great hits. 

Her music has not only helped Salma Sky win the hearts of millions of fans across Africa, but it has also won her prestigious awards including the 2012 Born & Bred Award for Best R&B video.

Having conquered her fanbase in Zambia, Salma Sky has grown to become an internationally-acclaimed musician and she has exported her music to other African countries. 

She performed during the grand finale of Big Brother Africa in 2010 and 2013 which exposed her to an international audience.
