How the Bushiri's managed to flee from South Africa and enter their country in Malawi undetected, is probably one of the biggest mysteries people are still trying to figure out. Whilst the South African lawmakers are still trying to figure out how to get the two fugitives back to the country, Bushiri and his wife Mary handed themselves over to police in Lilongwe, Malawi.

This past weekend Bushiri and wife Mary broke the rules of their R200 000 bail conditions by flying back to Malawi. Clearly the two were a flight risk and they proved that by smuggling their way to their country. They are facing criminal charges such as money laundering and fraud.

Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, has informed the masses that the Departments of security and justice including their respective ministers must provide further explanations. It also wants to see video footage of the Malawian’s president’s departure from Waterkloof Airbase.

South Africans are still not pleased by how Bushiri managed to evade police and the State officials in the country, the South African government has vowed however to extradite the two fugitives so that they may answer for their crimes, in the meantime all of their assets and money will remain frozen until they face their day in court.
