The film, according to Frank Kasonde, will be shot in different locations across the world, including the United States of America, United Kingdom, South Africa and Zambia, with its cast selected from all the four countries. The film is said to depict the life of First Republic President Dr Kenneth Kaunda, among others, which is why Frank decided to contact the Zambian government for this reason.

According to the Daily Mail, project coordinator Jack Mwale mentioned that they need US$20 million for the movie.

“We want the project to attract top Hollywood actors so that it can attract the attention of the world. Someone from outside the country is being earmarked to play the role of Dr Kenneth Kaunda. The former President Kenneth Kaunda, and his family have already endorsed the project and we want President Edgar Lungu to also endorse it. When that is done, then we will start knocking on the doors of the corporate world for financial assistance.”

While speaking to Zamvibe from the finglocal

"About 13 years ago in 2008 , I was still in my eleventh grade at Kafue boys secondary school and during one of the Independence celebrations, an interviewer on ZNBC TV went around asking people on the streets who "Dr Kenneth Kaunda is"? and most of them explained him to a be a father of the nation and a great hero, who fought for our freedom against our colonial masters; and I asked myself if this man is a hero, how come there is no movie or much books about him to tell the world on what he did for us as a nation, Africa and the world at large? then I vowed to do something about it and I came up with an idea to do a movie entitled "The Struggle" and 13 years later here we are still fighting to bring the dream to reality. Dr Kenneth Kaunda inspired me to do a movie on him because he was an ordinary young man like me when he started fighting a fight that allowed you and I have this freedom we enjoy today. He is the inspiration every day of my life."

We can't wait to see this great movie and a great honour to the Zambian people.
