Rap is one of the most appreciated music genres around the globe and one of the most flourishing as well. In Zambia, the genre has its fair share of fans and musicians who are doing well.

In no particular order, here is a look at some of the richest rappers in Zambia, who have made a name for themselves, amassed a legion of followers and made money from spitting verses.

Macky 2

Coming at the top of the list of the richest rappers in Zambia is Mulaza Kaira, also known as Macky 2 with a net worth of about $5 million.

Macky 2 started his music career in 2011 and in those few years, he has released five studio albums, worked with some of the biggest local and international stars, and won the hearts of millions of fans.

He is currently one of the highest-paid artists in the country and he reportedly charges about K80,000 per show.

Slap Dee

With a net worth of around 4.5 million,  Mwila Musonda popularly known by his stage name- Slap Dee, also makes it on the list of the richest rappers in Zambia.

The Tomboka hitmaker reportedly charges about K35,000 per show locally and K120,000 for every international show.

Besides the money he makes from his music, the award-winning rapper also dabbles as a music producer through his production label-  XYZ Entertainment, a businessman with interests in the fashion and food industry, and a brand ambassador for several brands including Kung Fu Energy drink and Itel.

Roberto Zambia

Considered one of the best rappers in the country as well as one of the most consistent artists in the industry, Robert Banda who is popularly known by his stage name- Roberto is one of those rappers who have put Zambia on the map for good reasons.

Since launching his music career, the rapper who comes from a family of musicians has been able to conquer the music industry with his well-written verses and beats.

With a net worth of about 4 million Kwacha, Roberto Zambia also makes it on the list of the top ten richest rappers in Zambia. While Roberto makes most of his money from his music, he also makes money from his production label- BrathaHood Music which he co-owns with his brother General Ozzy.

Pompi has been in the music industry and with age, he just keeps getting better. Throughout his career, he has won prestigious awards, worked with some big names both locally and internationally and made good millions from his music as well as his businesses.

He is not just one of the richest rappers in Zambia, but also among the richest gospel musicians in the country.

The 36-year-old rapper makes money from his music, his endorsement deals with brands like Coca-Cola, Hungry Lion, and Shop-Rite, just to name a few and he has made enough money to earn him a spot on the list of the richest rappers in Zambia.

With a net worth of between 3-4.5 million, the Big Dreams hitmaker currently ranks amongst the richest rappers in Zambia. Besides her music, Cleo Ice Queen also makes money from her endorsement deals as well as her career on television and radio as a presenter.

B’Flow

He is the first musician in Zambia to ever perform at the United States embassy event that was sponsored by the US government during Barack Obama’s presidency and he is known for using his music to advocate for social justice.

His net worth is estimated at around K1.7 and K2.5 million and he has accumulated most of it from his work as a musician as well as his endorsement deals.

Bomb$hell Grenade

Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda, better known as Bomb$hell Grenade is the second female rapper to make it on this list of the richest rappers in Zambia.

Born in 1987, Bomb$hell Grenade started rapping at age 11 and by 12 she was writing her own lyrics. She officially launched her career in 2016 with the release of her debut single Shame Ol' Me and she has been on a steady rise since then.

The rapper who was listed as one of the top six rappers in Africa by MTV Base in 2017 also dabbles as a model, a television presenter, an actress and an activist. All these hustles have helped build Bomb$hell Grenade’s net worth and earn her a spot amongst the richest rappers on the land.
