Edward Chanda (Chanda) and Kevin Simfukwe(Kay) first met on March 4, 2020. The two who had been acquainted with each other’s work were both inspired by each other's musical prowess and decided to work together and that’s how Chanda na Kay was born.

Before forming the formidable duo, both Chanda and Kay had their independent solo careers. Chanda worked with 408 Empire for some time before going solo after the credits of one of his songs was stolen by another artist while Kay recorded some solo projects and was known as the Real Rapper by his fans.

Less than a week after partnering up, Chanda Na Kay released their first single together titled Mumfwafe. The song was an instant success and helped make their name known across the country. In April 2020, the duo released their second hit Bella and they have since been on the climb to fame and success.

Since launching their career as a duo, Chanda na Kay who are currently signed by Nexus music, have released a good number of singles that were well-received including Mbo, Chilolwe, and Ah Nde Twa, just to name a few.

They have also worked with some of the biggest names in Zambia’s music scene including Abel Chungu, Chef 187, Roberto and Jay Rox among others. They have also worked with international musicians including a Congolese called Majoos and a Burundian called B Face.
